Privacy Policy

Effective October 2, 2026. Real-animal discovery works without an account. This policy explains what information is handled when you browse the site, save animals, create AI artwork, use a membership, submit an animal update, or contact us.

Information stored in your browser

Saved animals and recently viewed animals are kept in local storage on your device. These entries contain animal identifiers, not your name or email address. They remain in that browser until you clear its site data. The site reads them only to restore your collection and recent discoveries.

Anonymous site analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand page views and broad usage patterns, including which tools are useful. Vercel describes this service as cookie-free and based on anonymous, aggregated data. It may process the page or route, referrer, approximate location, device type, operating system, browser, timestamp, and limited custom events such as saving or opening an animal. We do not send animal names, email addresses, or free-form contribution text in those custom events. Read Vercel's Web Analytics privacy and compliance documentation.

AI artwork accounts and memberships

Signing in to the AI creator uses your email address and authentication cookies. Supabase stores your account, verified trial dates, daily image usage, generation status, selected animal parts, artwork, and favorites. Artwork is stored privately and opened through temporary access links. Signing out does not delete your artwork, and an expired membership does not remove access to your previous creations.

When you choose Google sign-in, Google shares your account identifier, email address, and basic profile details, such as your name and profile image, with Supabase to authenticate and maintain your account.

To create an image, our server sends the selected parts and art direction to the configured AI image service. We do not include your email address or billing information in that image request. The service processes the request under its own terms. Authentication and image providers may process technical information needed to operate their services.

When paid subscriptions are available, Stripe processes checkout and payment details. Our application stores Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, payment-event identifiers, and paid membership periods; it does not store card numbers. Your email address is supplied to Stripe to associate checkout with your account.

Animal update submissions

If you suggest an animal update, we receive the animal and field you selected, your suggested value, and any source link or note you choose to provide. We also create a one-way hash from the request address for rate limiting and abuse prevention; the application does not store the raw address with the submission. Contributions are stored with our database provider, Supabase, and retained as needed for review, abuse prevention, and editorial records. Do not include personal or sensitive information in a suggestion.

Email and service providers

If you email us, we receive your email address and the contents of your message so we can reply. Cloudflare provides hosting, Vercel provides anonymous site analytics, and Supabase stores animal update submissions and AI accounts. These providers may process technical information necessary to deliver and protect their services under their own privacy terms.

Your choices

You can remove saved and recent animals by clearing this site's local storage in your browser. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights concerning personal information. To ask a privacy question or request access, correction, or deletion, use our contact page. Because analytics data is anonymous and contributions do not request an identity, we may not be able to connect those records to you.

Children and policy changes

The site is designed for general audiences and does not knowingly request personal information from children. A parent or guardian can contact us about information a child may have sent. We may update this policy when the site or its providers change; the effective date above will show the latest revision.
